About Us

Yamhill County has reached a crossroads. In recent years, progressive activists have pushed policies that chip away at parental rights, expand government reach, weaken medical freedom, burden us with excessive taxation, and ignore the voices of everyday citizens. 

We’ve seen it in Newberg City Hall, where transparency has been an afterthought. 

We’ve seen it at the county level with land use decisions that limited property rights we had to fight to defend. 

We’ve seen it in our schools, where politics too often takes precedence over parents and students.

Citizens across the county began asking the same question: Who is standing up for us?

That is why YamCo Conservatives Action Network (YCAN) was created. 

We are a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization built to give conservatives in Yamhill County the tools, structure, and voice to push back against progressive overreach and restore balance in our communities.

What We Are About

• Civic Engagement
      YCAN exists to activate citizens who are ready to step into civic life. Whether it’s testifying at a city council meeting, questioning county spending, or showing up at school board meetings, we make sure you have the knowledge and confidence to stand up and be heard.

• Conservative Values
      We defend limited government, personal responsibility, strong families, medical freedom, and the right of every person to own and steward their property. These are not just “talking points.”  They’re the principles that built Yamhill County and the values progressives are working to erode.

• Accountable Government
      From Newberg to McMinnville, too many decisions have been made behind closed doors or with little regard for public input. YCAN stands as a watchdog, pressing for transparency, defending election integrity, and reminding officials that government answers to the people, not the other way around.

• Advocacy in Action
      This isn’t about posting on social media and walking away. YCAN organizes grassroots lobbying, mobilizes citizens to contact local, county, state, and federal legislators, and shows up in force to support conservative policy that protects our values.

• Supporting Leaders Who Share Our Values
      We believe conservatives deserve strong representation. YCAN works to support conservative elected officials who stand firm for our community, and we help prepare the ground for new conservative candidates who are ready to step up and lead.
